ResponderEliminarCat Stevens es un grande pero cuando descubrí esta versión me enamoró completamente, siempre he sido muy de Cash. Otro día le homenajearé a Stevens, ya tengo una canción en la recamara :)

EliminarEsta etapa final de Cash de las American Recordings (1994-2003) está llena de joyitas. Johnny tenía ya la voz bastante cascada y mucha menor potencia, pero grabó decenas de temazos (muchos de ellos versiones de músicos mucho más jóvenes que él, lo cual no deja de ser original, por infrecuente y por lo que supone de humildad por parte de alguien que había sido uno de los grandes referentes de la música americana).
ResponderEliminarSus veinte-veintidós años anteriores fueron una especie de travesía por el desierto, con discos en general flojos y una deriva hacia el country más plano y comercial alejado de su estilo propio, que es el que se gestó en los años cincuenta (rockabilly-country y gospel rockabillizado) y sesenta (discos conceptuales) y tuvo su culmen en los conciertos de las cárceles (Folsom Prison, San Quentin), su etapa televisiva (Johnny Cash Show) y primeros discos de los setenta (Hello, I´m Johhny Cash, Man In Black).
